NGC 3521's New Photo
"Located within the constellation of Leo. Taken with the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope in Chile, the bright-centered galaxy is 35 million light-years away from Earth and spans 50,000 light-years from tip to tip. William Herschel discovered it in 1784 with a 47-centimeter aperture telescope.
The center of NGC 3521 is packed with stars — older stars are reddish in hue and younger stars are highlighted in blue."
