Skyrim's Best Armor
Daedric Armor Set – Heavy Armor
- The sturdiest armor in Skyrim is also one of the rarest. To create Daedric Armor, you’ll need a Smithing skill over 90 with the Daedric Smithing Perk. You’ll also need Daedra Hearts.
- Daedra Hearts are dropped by Dremora, or other Daedra monsters, which are all very rare in Skyrim. To encounter Daedra, try to complete Daedra Lord quests. Or, Daedra Hearts can be purchased from most alchemist vendors after the Dragonborn is over level 25.
- The fence in the College of Winterhold will also sell Daedra Hearts, unlock the fence by completing Thieves Guild faction quests. Or, introduce yourself to Enthir in the Hall of Attainment, in the College of Winterhold, to purchase more Daedra Hearts. Enthir restocks with two hearts every two days. Be aware that completing the College of Winterhold quest string will stop Enthir from selling Daedra Hearts to you.
- The best light armor in Skyrim requires a Smithing skill of 100, and rare dragon scales. Completing the main quest should lead you to several dragon encounters, where you’ll gain a healthy supply of dragon scales. You must also have the Dragon Smithing perk to construct this armor.
- This unique armor is perfect for thieves and stealth characters. You’ll be rewarded with the armor for completing the “Trinity Restored” quest for Brynjolt during the Thieves Guild quest string.
- The Nightingale armor set comes with plenty of useful enhancements; stamina buff, and frost resistance buff. The hood has an illusion spell cost reduction enhancement, the boots muffle your sounds and allow you to move silently, while the gloves buff your one-handed damage and lockpicking skill.
- This mask worn by a Dragon Priest might not provide the best defense, but it is enhanced with a special effect making the wearer immune to all poison and disease.
- The mask, and wearer, can be found in the Reach, inside the Valthume. Find the tomb south of Markarth.
- Another Dragon Priest Mask, this one providing and +50 fortify bonus to magicka, and a cost reduction bonus to Destruction and Restoration spells.
- Find this one while going on your main quest, the tomb called Skuldafn is only accessible in the The World-Eater’s Eyrie.
- A special cuirass rewarded for completing the “Boethiah’s Calling” quest. Find the quest by reading the book Boethiah’s Proving, found in Septimus Signus’ Outpost.
- This powerful set of armor grants the wearer a permanent muffle, allowing them to move silently despite wearing heavy armor. Any nearby NPCs that are aggressive towards you will also be dealt 5 poison damage per second.
- While crouched, black tendrils will leak off your armor.
